Footprint Homes is growing its nationwide network of experienced Licensed Building Practitioners who want to expand into small homes, granny flats and secondary dwellings.
As a Build Partner, you can add a complete range of proven small homes to your portfolio without having to develop the plans, establish the supply chain or create everything from the ground up.
You focus on construction pricing, project management and completing the build. Depending on the partnership option selected, we can help manage the work required to turn an initial client enquiry into a construction-ready project.
One of our Northland Build Partners has now completed 12 tiny homes through this partnership, creating additional building opportunities he may not otherwise have secured.
Our systems are already designed to make the process seamless, efficient and profitable. We also continue to refine the programme by listening to feedback from the builders working with us.
Option One:
Supported Build Partnership
Your client purchases the Flatpack Kitset directly from Footprint Homes. You price, manage and complete the construction.
Many builders are approached by clients wanting a granny flat or small home. However, determining whether the project is achievable can involve hours of unpaid work before construction is even confirmed.
We work alongside you, your client, our architect and our network of consultants to help move the project from an initial enquiry to a construction-ready position.
Our support can include:
- Helping the client choose a suitable home design
- Reviewing the property and likely project requirements
- Preliminary Flatpack Kitset pricing
- Coordinating working drawings
- Council and building consent coordination
- Engineering and consultant coordination
- Geotechnical, stormwater and wastewater requirements
- Client selections and approved upgrades
- Working with you to develop a realistic overall project budget
- Ongoing client communication and project follow-up
- Access to specialist finance support where required
You provide the construction, project-management and site-related pricing. Together, we help the client understand the likely total investment before construction begins—reducing budget surprises, increasing client confidence and allowing you to focus on completing the build.
Option Two:
Wholesale Flatpack Supply
Already have your own client, consultants and project systems in place? Purchase the Flatpack Kitset directly and manage the complete project yourself.
This option is suited to builders who want to add our small-home range to their business while managing the client, site, council process, pricing and construction independently.
Your Build Partner supply can include:
- Wholesale Flatpack Kitset pricing
- Code-compliant working drawings
- Specifications and product information
- Marketing images and plan information
- Product and supplier warranties
- Construction and technical support
- Access to our architect for approved minor design changes
- Access to the Cabins and Homes plan website, which you can share with prospective clients (This does not have Footprint Homes branding - under development)
- The ability to promote the range through your own website and social media
Our standard retail pricing includes an allowance for the customer and pre-construction support normally required. Builders who manage this work themselves may purchase at an agreed wholesale Build Partner rate.

Being accepted as a Build Partner does not guarantee a particular number of projects or leads. Our goal is to develop strong, long-term relationships with quality builders throughout New Zealand.
