Separett Toilet 9010
Separett - a complete toilet system for residential homes
Enjoy your home
For 30 years, Separett has manufactured toilets designed to satisfy your need for comfort wherever you may be. You should feel at home when you are at your house, vacation home or anywhere else where there is no access to a septic system. Thanks to the continual development of technology, design and functionality, Separett toilets are now more advanced than ever.
Benefits for the environment
Separett wants to contribute to a green and sustainable environment for present and future generations. A Separett toilet needs neither water to flush with, nor expensive sewage treatment, which is a great benefit to the environment. Moreover, the separation process makes it possible to recycle the waste back to nature as an organic fertilizer. The benefit to you is a toilet solution without odour.
Separett conquers unpleasant odours
Until now, waterless toilets meant unpleasant odours. When urine and faeces become mixed together, the combination starts to ferment. In a Separett toilet, liquid and solid wastes are routed separately which means the processes that cause unpleasant odours never occur. Thanks to this, the ventilation can be routed straight through the back wall or roof. Also, the energy-efficient fan will keep the toilet or shower area free of moisture and odours.
How Separett 9010 Works
The Separett Villa 9010 (12V model) is designed for situations where there is no reticulated power available, it has an adapter to plug into a 3 point plug. It is a dehydrating toilet that dries solid waste and toilet paper, while separating urine at the source.
Urine is diverted through the supplied 2-metre hose. In most installations, this can be connected to the “S” trap under a hand basin within the toilet room. If that is not an option, and subject to local regulations, the urine can be directed to an external soak hole, provided ground conditions are suitable and there is no high water table. Where neither option is feasible, an ejector tank can be installed.
The ejector tank is typically placed beside the dwelling and connected via the supplied hose. It includes a ground-level gauge to indicate when it is full (approximately 50 litres). Once full, a garden hose can be connected to the tank, where it automatically mixes 1 part urine with 8 parts water, allowing safe distribution around shrubs as fertiliser.
Solid waste and toilet paper are collected in a container beneath the seat. When full, the container is removed and sealed with the supplied lid. To begin the composting process, add approximately 20mm of topsoil and 2 litres of clean water. Cover with a breathable material (such as a 3-ply sheet), weigh it down, and place the container in a sunny outdoor location.
Included with the toilet:• 2 × solid waste containers• 1 × lid for waste container• 1 × absorbent sample• 1 × bioblock sample• 2 × bio-bag samples (partial roll)
The Villa 9010 is a dehydrating toilet, meaning waste is dried during use. Once removed, the rehydration process (adding soil and water) allows the material to break down into compost. This typically takes around 90 days, depending on climate conditions. The resulting compost can then be added to a compost bin or buried in the garden.
As a guide, each container will last approximately 8 weeks for two people using the toilet daily. In holiday homes or occasional-use situations, intervals between changes will be longer.
Maintenance is minimal. For regular use, the yellow filter should be removed and rinsed weekly. In addition, pour approximately 1 litre of lukewarm water into the urine bowl 3–4 times per week to help prevent build-up.
It’s important to note that this is a dehydrating toilet, not a traditional composting toilet. For correct operation, the fan must run continuously (24/7), and the bathroom should have windows closed. Failure to do so can affect performance and lead to odour issues.

Cleaning and Maintenance
Easy handling of end products - A natural fertiliser
The solid waste can easily become an excellent fertilizer. Just lift out the container and place it in a suitable location outdoors. Add some soil and put the lid on with a slight opening, which allows the solids to vent. This process inactivates human pathogens so that it can harmlessly be composted or buried, in order to decompose fully. The end product is an organic fertilizer for your flower garden.
An organic plant nutrient
The urine, which contains the majority of our useful waste, can easily be spread on the garden, shrubs and flowers. With the Separett Ejektortank you get the optimal mixture of urine and water automatically (8 parts water to 1 part urine), which enables the plants to attract the nutrients without burning.
The urine drarnage pipe can be led to the greywater system (e.g. smk or shower), a soakaway or a tank Details concerning the most suttable and approved alternative can be obtained from your local Environmental Protection, Public Health and Building departments
